@romin @phnt I still have flashbacks from the time FE used to automatically replace @'s with a godwaful fontawesome version of the symbol which brought the browser to a crawl in any thread with more than 10 users. With no way to turn it off without patching the frontend, by the way.

@phnt Maybe faster than the last build where they put a fucking loading screen instead of fixing the problem. My old patched FE loads pretty much instantaneously.

@phnt @feld I mean, Linux's kernel ABI doesn't break that often, either. Here I just booted Ubuntu 10.04 with 6.x kernel I copied from my host. It's userspace that's the problem, namely glibc which requires recompiling everything upon major updates and static linking is discouraged. musl hasn't taken over until long after it became a widespread problem.

  Short-lived and IP address certificates are now generally available from Let’s Encrypt. These certificates are valid for 160 hours, just over six days. In order to get a short-lived certificate subscribers simply need to select the ‘shortlived’ certificate profile in their ACME client. Short-lived certificates improve security by requiring more frequent validation and reducing reliance on unreliable revocation mechanisms. If a certificate’s private key is exposed or compromised, revocation has historically been the way to mitigate damage prior to the certificate’s expiration. Unfortunately, revocation is an unreliable system so many relying parties continue to be vulnerable until the certificate expires, a period as long as 90 days. With short-lived certificates that vulnerability window is greatly reduced.

Apparently the limit of 256 processes with dbus connection can be reached within two weeks. Killed all the dangling at-spi-bus-launcher/xdg-desktop-portal processes and disks started showing up again. Don't know if anything else gets broken like last time I yanked its sockets in /tmp.
