Last night I got to attend my 7y/o's 'Christmas Concert'. She sang and danced to her heart's content. The packed gymnasium gave her class a rousing applause. She was so happy!

I talk a lot of trash about my wife and kid online because they truly drive me mad! But being a husband and father is my greatest joy.

Thankful to have these opportunities to be present during a time when things look meek and grim.

I raised my kid as a free-range kid. He is self-initiating and got himself into special classes at school on his own (filling out his own paperwork). He would go into the city for concerts with his friends at 14 years old.

As a kid, I remember being out of the house and doing my own thing before I was eight years old. (Okinawan jungle with Habu)

My entire childhood my parents (and relatives) kept hammering the value of education. They even wanted me to study hard to be a doctor.

It’s funny then that as my parent age, they’ve grown wary of doctors and don’t believe in basic science.

Encourage your kid to become a doctor but don’t take doctor’s advice when you get sick or hurt.
