@kta @scottjenson did not know about #sway, after a quick look it feels indeed like an interesting take in a fertile direction (For most of the time fighting windows with a mouse feels like a waste of time and energy without obvious benefit).

Is it a mode that could be reasonably emulated in #kde?

Thinking that the concept might also give a usability boost to small android screens running #termux (some of us still dream of physical keyboards on mobile)

If I look at flathub.org/apps/io.gitlab.lib… and github.com/flathub/io.gitlab.l… they say LibreWolf is at v121. Why does Discover keep wanting to downgrade it from v119 to v118?

Yesterday I learned about #KDE Connect, https://kdeconnect.kde.org/ . This is such a cool project, if you’ve got a #Linux desktop machine and a smartphone and want both to talk to one another.

My use case was easy file transfer, but you can remotely control each device from one another with a lot of possibilities. Really a game changer for me!

@thanius @nixCraft #linux with #kde looks like #Windows - so (grand)parents often "see" no difference 👍🏻 You are my hero of the day! 🐧🦸♂️

Wow, TIL that #eigen, the powerful #cpp library for all sorts of numerical computing started as a #KDE project to support visualization. Eigen is now a building block in various #machinelearning efforts.

The magic of #opensource development is that pieces evolve, recombine and are re-used in novel contexts, almost like a biological process.

Fucking #gnome sometimes (most of the time). I've got a fairly intricate op to run tonight and under #kde I would be able to re-title all the shells I need to have open to run it but in Gnome? "Derrr, we removed that option... it was 2 hard 4 luzers to understand!"

I swear to all that matters, the UX experimentation perpetrated by Gnome is a pestilence rivaled only by that of #systemd
