    TL;DR:
    We're developing a Free software Gacha-TCG playable from the within the fediverse and we've reached the first milestone.

    Here's the current stuff that has been implemented:
    - 🎲 Card roll system
    - 🧠 Core database structure for cards
    - 📦 Basic support for storing pulls per player
    - ⏱️ Time-based limitations on rolls
    - ⚠️ Explicit account creation/deletion
    - :pleroma_petthex: PLEROMA SUPPORT??

    I want to give a thank to the devs that have started working on my silly project, (no particular order) VD15, Nyanide, pwm, Moon, Munir, Naiji, and everyone that has commented, liked, repeated or someway be interested in the project. :kannapray1::kannapray2::kannapray3: You're all awesome.

    The development continues steadily on our free time.
    I'm slowly also making cards as we go, to try out new styles, and search for a consistent art-style, at least for the first batch.

Updates: - instance whitelisting works - DMs are now replied with DMs too so people can play without spamming - Responses to commands are unlisted for less spam Since it's a misskey and not a pleroma bot I'm going to use the misskey drive to my advantage and directly load the files there so the database has just a bunch of ids instead of interacting with images locally or whatever, also so when posting again, the bot can use the same image it uploaded initially. I thought of making a GUI to interact with the database and insert the characters but perhaps I can just make it so the characters can be added from a bot command too, like: @waifumelon addchar "Pleroma-tan pregnant" [rareness] (image upload) Of course it would have a whitelist so not everyone can just add any character. We will see how easy it is but I really preferred to keep the website that also accesses the database to be read only so I don't have to worry about authentication RN: **Devlog of a fedi game** Since I'm currently making a small fedi game I wanted to share the ideas and see if someone is also interested. It's a small gacha game directly accessible from the fediverse. The idea would be to make the code open at some point while keeping the database with the characters somewhere else so people can reuse it without a problem since I wanted to place random characters lol Thinking of calling it "Kemoverse" but open to names. Some personal comments and the current todo: - Figure out how to implement images (both how to send and keep them) - An easy way to manage the characters table - Finalize the whitelist system - Add time limitation on rolls Long term: - Easy way to place characters in a "card", maybe using imagemagick so we can have a basic "card creator" - Add trading - Add more notifications when someone rolls a rare card - Add some fun to the Leaderboard - Add pleroma support (Currently only works with misskey) - Add more fluff to the website! Other comments: Using Misskey.py was surprisingly easy and fun. Yes this is kinda similar to the Mudae discord bot I guess **FAQ:** - Are you gonna ask for any money? Not unless it blows up in usage and my computer explodes, then you will have to pay for it idiots!! - Is Pleroma-tan going to have a card where she's preg- YES. STOP ASKING. (📎2)

    15) According to the CBC and my friend Jerry who pointed this out, this past year saw a 1B$ cut to the canadian forces budget. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/department-national-defence-budget-billion-1.6981974 all the while increasing requirements of what it was supposed to be doing with the money it had. There's other things than funding the canadian forces canada should be doing, and this is typical for liberal governments but now is not the time to be nickle and diming our armed forces given stuff like #14 - we need to properly fund our armed forces enough to handle some of the extra work they are going to be expected to do at the *very least*.

    Entirely possible, but I'd like to project a bit more optimistically. I suspect anyone looking at my recent posting history here would assume all I do is make obtuse anime references and engage in crass banter with a handful of people, but I like to think I have a little more going on than that that I just don't bring to this platform, and I think I just expect that it's a similar situation for anyone else I see here with less than 100 posts per day.

    Some of the stuff feels so mundane to me that I just assume nobody else will care, others I get out of my system in a close-knit IRC group and leave at that. I've never really cared much for putting things up publicly, since I'm too lazy to do proper opsec with it and I don't want to spend too many of my waking hours thinking about that in particular.

    As a random example of something that got a few lines on IRC recently, the other day I was contemplating my usual hair hack 'n' slash and thought about how if I had a clipper guard comb larger than 12mm I'd use it, since it always took a few weeks after that to get to a length I liked. I figured there might be some pitfalls beyond the obvious "it's nontrivial to keep hair straight enough for a consistent cut that way the longer it is", and I didn't think just linearly scaling up what I had on hand was an ideal starting point, so I guggled oversized clipper guards and saw that it was indeed not a novel concept and had some reference images to reason about the shape to aim for. Then I took some measurements of my guard combs, shat out a 40mm model in OpenSCAD, printed it, cursed printer for centering it on the print bed against my instructions and adding support and lifting a few minutes in, coerced it with a small strip on the opposite corner for round 2, noticed my arc profile was a bit too aggressive to print supportless in this orientation but the deformation wasn't too severe, attached it to my clippers, tolerances were a bit off so it got stuck (and is still stuck on there, I'll likely have to break it and print a new, looser V2 when I need to use another guard comb on it), but it did exactly the job I hoped it would and now I can trim my hair a bit more regularly to a length I like.

    Then I looked into what a #2 cut even means, and it turned out that the numbers are eighths of an inch, making my 12mm guard a #4, and my new 40mm guard something like #12~#13. Another funny number is that average hair growth is close to 1/8inch per week, so a #2 cut would be similar to a #4 cut after a couple of weeks, and a #12 cut would be like my old #4 cut after around 8 weeks. Maybe I'll do actual #12, #13, #14 sizes to better approximate the results of the #2 top & #1 sides, #0 patterns after a few weeks.
