Transgenderism in the west is way different than the Faʻafafine or Samoa, the Ladyboys of Thailand, or the Hijra of India. The other cultures never saw it as being the other gender; mostly it was just gay man who wanted to attracted certain types of other men. The Hijra are honestly more like the Bacha bazi; literally pimped slaved.

The westerns try to point to them as say "see, it's always existed," but those things are very different from the new western movement.
