@KeepTakingTheSoma @Fullycaffeinated This is an actual thing now, Govt has made parents terrified of even trying to discipline the buggers, if they even breath next to them its you'll get done, so they rule the roost and run riot. There was a couple in Skye a few years ago who had 2 admittedly very apologetic and embarrassed cops at the door one night because when they had been down in Dingwall to do some shopping the toddler was having a blue fit. She went off on one and started kicking her mother, her dad did a swat of her behind with a don't you ever dare do anything like that to your mother and dumped her into the car. Someone saw them and made a report to the police that he had smacked her. The cop said we have to come because it is a report but that is all we are doing, to say we stood on the step, I have kids of my own and I know, so off they went. I have heard of people saying that their kids have said to them you can't touch me, I will phone Childline, and it even having caused mayhem, child did it, got taken away, only later realised anger at time then lead to this, was devastated etc but too late, FAFO.
