@xianc78 @wrongthink @alex @gnusocialjp @mint @ryo I joined Twitter not long before the GamerGate shit and left circa 2018 when it was becoming clear that having a Twitter was a massive liability.

The website declined so hard in that time period it's insane. Especially as Twitter didn't get that good at disappearing people who blocked you until later on, so it was obvious as shit that half the site was already using schizophrenic blocklists. My old accounts were on a few anyway.

Eventually as purges continued, the cool people on the site were gone, and only the worst of the site continued to use it. Sometimes I still run into a few people I used to talk to from time to time, but as much as part of me regrets not passing contact info to some of the people I knew I also remember how it wasn't worth it with the people who were left.

I would never want to build a career on Twitter.com because I know that I'd be more likely to get supported being into weird porn and on the right wing parts of the web than if I were on the left wing part of the web and pissed off the mob even once. There's literally drama going on right now in one circle where a diehard leftist who canceled people a lot is being thrown to the wolves for being too leftist. No really.
