- Embed this notice@SuperDicq @thatbrickster @dushman The bootloader being proprietary malware is a problem even if the device is fully encrypted - as the bootloader can go and hook itself into the password entry process, extract the crypto keys and then do whatever.
Bootloader handcuffing has no security benefit - it's about restricting the user.
The only way to have security is for everything to be free software and then the user being able to optionally set a key.
