The same older generation that doesn't understand why people would change companies every three years doesn't understand that there aren't as many jobs around that want people of a certain lifestyle and social class. It used to be that the manager of a company was expectes to drive a nicer car and people would take "dress for the job you want not the job you have" and extrapolate it to all areas of their personal life, to the point where the number of people who are in debt beyond reasonable levels is staggering.
