It shows up here, it shows up in the refusal to admit any victory of any scale, finding ways to declare it inadequate and therefore as bad or worse than nothing at all, because any degree of success is the opposite of pure, perfect, principled failure and therefore anathema.

The American Left HAS TO fall out of love with failure. But it has to admit it's in love with it first.
