@david @tk @sun there is no such thing as an apolitical social space, and programming communities are social spaces. rules and moderation are based on what is considered socially acceptable, and the reality is that this is a political question. am I happy that it is? no. I think there is a certain ethical standard that shouldn't be up for debate, like, at all. but the reality is that it *is* being politically debated. and I'd rather have a project take an explicit stance on that.

that obviously isn't advocating for banning people just based on political affiliation. rather, it's about having rules and anyone who can behave and follow those rules is welcome and anyone who does not behave is not, easy as.
