Thomas Lincoln may have pained by the event, but I need to read the full passage in the copy of the autobiography later today. If Thomas looked the other way, on the other hand, that explains a lot why Abraham Lincoln's psychopathy went unchecked into adulthood and his eventual political career.
It doesn't sound like Abraham Lincoln wrote how the father reacted to his and his brother's actions, and I don't think Abraham would have neglected to record any chastisement or punishment.
