No. They get it eventually.

I have to show them how to find () {} and [] on the keyboard and that they aren't the same. I also have to teach them *how* to copy and paste.

They are scandalized and think I'm letting them "cheat" when I say "copy this line then make this change it's faster" when typing a program.

But by the end they can really use the keyboard and understand the syntax of functions in a few different contexts.
