In reality though, and for me, it's more about getting back to simplicity, but also having control. I spend most of my time in nvim, including drafting emails and type setting pdfs. I've made a myriad of scripts to automate most of my practice, including making estate plans from csv data. My next project is to switch from quickbooks to hledger. I've been working on a script to get from timedot (a time keeping function) to invoicing. As of this morning, I'm able to export data for time keepers, total columns, sum fees, and type set the table with date, description, time, fee. I just need to add advanced costs and automate posting, and my invoicing will become 10x quicker than using quickbooks.
