@sim @sun in the real world patriotism and nationalism intersect, indubitably, but patriotism is a sober and weighted love for your own country with the acknowledgement of its flaws and a desire and drive to see it rise up above them and thrive, nationalism is just when you throw any sobriety or common sense out the window and romanticize your nation and people to the point of idolatry, bonus points if you've done absolutely fucking nothing to contribute to the feats of strength you attribute to your own people
