Evan Prodromou@austinha @cwebber people seem to think that this is an unfortunate misunderstanding, and that if these two communities of good faith just sit down and hammer out some details, we can all have a single protocol. That's not the case; it's one VC-funded startup against everyone else, Open Source, corporate, whatever. They don't use ActivityPub because they want a protocol they own and control.
