@mastodonmigration @stux @jerry I'm an early pixelfed user, so I'm already locked in to using pixelfed.social, similar to my being a longtime mastodon.social user. I get the pluses and minuses to being on a mega-instance.

The concerns I voiced are real concerns for everyday users, and reduce the appeal of federated services relative to other offerings. If the fediverse wants to grow and be a serious competitor to Facebook and friends, they need to be addressed in a more user-friendly manner.
