I work in a lot of public housing complexes and the thing is, a large percentage of poor and disadvantaged people are literal parasites who don't have the capacity for personal responsibility.
What privileged people (privileged in the sense you've gone from a relatively stable home -> college -> some corporate job and have never directly worked/been around "poor people") don't understand is how much of a literally incompetent parasite most homeless/poor people are. Personal responsibility aside, it is literally a culture and these people aren't domesticated. Like if you gave them a home and healthcare, they wouldn't be able to clean up after themselves, or make any kind of appointment on time.
The thing about it is you literally give them too much credit and don't understand a majority of people who get government assistant literally don't have the brain capacity to cook on a stove without starting a fire.
