- Embed this noticeThere's a lot of infrastructure that can't be fixed/replaced that needs to be. Old dams are a big one; things that expanded too fast under the New Deal that weren't viable and are now a liability.
But it's silly to think America isn't still doing infrastructure. There was a massive interstate redesign 5 minus from me that's coming along really well; 2~3 year long project. New housing is everywhere. It's made with a lot of pex pipe instead of copper, but it's still up to code and not falling apart like the tofu cities of China.
There are large infrastructure projects everywhere, and there are a lot of Americans out there in the heat, building concrete curb edges, laying asphalt and driving dump trucks.
There are some infrastructure maintenance burdens coming due. I'm surprised the Brent Spence Bridge in Cincinnati hasn't collapsed yet, but it looks like it's finally getting its replacement started next year.
