They were going to renegotiate the lease on the navy bases in the black sea, and then suddenly a coup takes place, and then no negotiation.

If they thought they were going to cut Russia off from the Black Sea and the Mediterranean they were fucking kidding themselves.

And so Russia took the land that the naval bases were on, then Ukraine wanted to join NATO.
