@sun @sim @bot @nicholas @teratology the WOWEE phase is awesome and if you can use money to shield yourself from the reality of this country do it for as long as possible is my advice. I came for the society and turns out it sucks, but if you came for the one girl then you dont actually have to interact with the dark side of the society. She might carry some of that dark side with her though, or you can try to shield her. Actually most gaijin hunters seek to eventually move overseas and escape Japan completely so that might be the case too.
