The first form of liberalization was far more insidious than the outright sodomization of the Presbytarian Church of the USA. The first form of liberalization was the forsaking, by heretical Modernists in the 1930's, of the Word as the ultimate standard for church and allowing of "Christianized" secular humanism into the pulpit and seminaries. J. Gresham Machen saw this, preached against it, was forsaken for it, and created the Orthodox (little "o") Presbyterian Church. The PCA came about when the Southern churches of the PCUS, similar to the now liberal PCUSA, saw their denomination beginning to do the same, but this time forsaking the foundational confessions of the Reformed tradition in favor of "modern friendly" (read liberal and gay) revisionist confessions in the 1940's and 50's :jahy_smart:
