@orangelantern @futurebird @chu Pretty much what Futurebird said. Also, a lot of people found the technical aspects too difficult, no matter how many times or different ways it was explained. They even made accounts here, but quickly abandoned them.

Others didn't like the culture here at all, and if they didn't go back to Twitter, they just settled on Bluesky.

Some still get their livelihood from Twitter and actively resent being there each day. They ignore me if I mention the Fediverse.
