Crime qua crime (that which is prosecuted by the courts to uphold the status quo) and interpersonal violence are connected in a fundamentally thinner line than the interpersonal violence that constitutes social norms, political ventures, jails, courts, policing versus "crime" which provides for the living of the systematically disenfranchised. It is not akin to the interpersonal violence that policing presumes to correct. The policing itself is the root of that whole species of violence.
