1993: I joined the Army right out of high school for 4-year enlistment.

2002: graduate from college and get commissioned as an officer and stationed CONUS at Fort Carson. I refuse the anthrax vaccine that we were all told Saddam Hussein had weaponized into warheads as an inhalation WMD.
2003: I get booted from the Army for refusing a presidential order too receive the anthrax vaccine.
2014: Facebook has a campaign called the ALS awareness ice water bucket challenge, because ALS had killed over 35,000 veterans.
