if you put people in to buckets for superwinners, winners, and poors, the absolute value within each bucket has increased over time. the poors (despite the US banks best attempts to cause depression after depression) still have better housing than medieval kings.
but the difference between the buckets has swung wide. instead of the king having a nicer house, the king now owns half the planet and ten orbital super mansions, while the poor has.. an apartment complex and a used car.
its the difference in nice things that results in big crime, and we can now see how the other sides live and are acutely aware of retarded car salesman does little to nothing but gets to own ten orbital yachts but the 140IQ worker has to flip burgers because :blobcatdunno:
