- Embed this notice@sun @evelyn @lucy some while ago i decided all i care about in politics is enforcing skin in the game and removal of conflicts of interest (although these two things probably conflict with themselves.) this gives a very odd perspective on everything.
you don't really want to take stuff from successful people. citation lost but there was a documentary on that and the middle class forming out of the plague but also because people were able to accumulate back then they started being able to elevate their own status. and we know from machiaveli that once you start robbing your own you never stop, and we know that the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money.
in an antifragile taleb environment, you don't really need to just punish someone for being successful. you need to police any weird corpofascist reasons they are successful. but otherwise they stand on their own until they don't. it's actually the ability to fail that enforces intelligent behavior from elites, and the constant threat that if they do one too many cocaine bender they'll fall off the pedestal and someone else claims the spot.
a lot of people get upset and angry at 'have money,' even though it's actually specifically parasitic rent seekers that are the problem, not the people who genuinely created something extremely useful and were compensated for it.
