The two aren't mutually exclusive. Not to mention, as time goes on, fewer and fewer people are remembered, but their genes live on. How many of the 46 US Presidents can you name without looking them up? How about Japanese emperors?

    How many Boeing CEOs?

    Top 10 artists from 1948?

I can keep going. But I know before you answer that most of these names are lost to history and you don't know them off the top of your head. Most of them you probably haven't ever seen written or heard uttered.

And these are best-case scenarios for leaving your mark on the world.

    It's best to survive genetically
