Words have meaning because we have a shared agreement on what the meaning is. When it comes to our Constitution we've delegated the power of interpretation to the individuals on the SCOTUS.
You can't "opt-out" of this.
There is literally no situation in which you can defend yourself in the USA by saying "Well I think the Constitution's words actually mean this instead".
edit: you seem to forget the existence of Black's Law Dictionary and Ballentine's Law Dictionary. These are the basis of our understanding of many words and phrases. If there's a special definition of what e.g., "are reserved to" means, then that's what is followed by the Courts. It doesn't matter if 300 million Americans read that same phrase and interpret it differently than lawyers and judges.
