Sleepy time tea bear@siege @theogrin exactly; we all know about it because it’s in our own best interest to pay attention and we live networked on the internet with other trans people & like meerkats we signal danger to each other. It’s not visible to most cis people because a) it’s mostly no skin off their nose & b) it’s not in the sources they look to for information, which gets us into institutional transphobia etc but the tl:dr is ‘of course they don’t know, why would they?’
