Paul/Saul was sent into his community by Christ to convince those jews who were spreading these workarounds to God's law that they were going to incur God's wrath and are in need of repentance.

Now, those who pretend to obey God's law while practicing and preaching workarounds to avoid the punishments for breaking God's law are what is referred to as the Synagog of Satan. Those people who say they are jews (who obey God's law) but are not jews (because Talmud).
