It's almost Dark Forest territory, isn't it: no sooner have we taken the first steps towards being a space faring civilisation, landing on the Moon, than we tip into Earth overshoot (around 1974) and start trashing the stable Holocene climate we depend on at a rate only exceeded in the geological record when there's been an asteroid impact. The Trisolarans couldn't do better!
