In the interval between WWI and WWII, Germany was being maintained in a state of penury by the bankers. Before WWI, Germany was an amazingly wealthy country. Yeah, they basically invented chemistry.
Bankers, hmmm... you'd think Hitler would have arrested them. But somehow most of them escaped. Most of 'em were from a certain ethnic group, too, shall we say.
So of course, in its infinite stupidity, the Hitler government harassed Jews like Fritz Haber and Albert Einstein and Albert Szent-Györgyi, and let the bankers go... And then he decided to invade Russia. How'd that work out for Napoleon? Oh, yeah. Well, whatever.
Hitler was stupid, Stalin was stupid, and Roosevelt was stupid. Wars are started by stupid men. Or really, psychopaths.

Governments are run by stupid psychopathic men. Mostly men, I think, though there might have been a few women... And they are in charge again. With nukes. That's what keeps annoying me.
