in the mid 2010s they started doing fecal transplants from people who were real healthy into fat people to try to modify gut flora and by extension their urges and attitudes towards food. it actually seemed to work p well
i always liked those diet lemon lime sodas when i was sick. so once when i had a stomach flu i drank a bunch of those. but they absolutely NUKE your gut flora, just ruins it. so after I would eat yogurt to help replenish those populations a bit, then i would eat absolutely clean for like a week. leafy greens, lean grilled meat, no sugar or bread. i found that after that week i had much healthier urges. things like a nice chicken breast sounding way better than any fast food slop or fried stuff. my idea is that by purging the original population of bacteria, then only giving it good food as inputs, i grew a colony of gut flora that thrived on good food and triggered cravings for healthy stuff
subjective, but i am p confident that it initiated a definite change
