@emilygorcenski @Sharksonaplane I always hate this framing, while the GOP has a lot of dark money candidates decided in smoke-filled rooms, and sometimes they even win something, the Dems tend to have _volunteers_ and the voters who show up in the primary pick who runs in the general. I won't say never, but there are very few smoky rooms, and there is no "they" secretly running things in the vast majority of cases. Talk to your fellows if you don't understand their choices.
