@Hoss @Turdicus yeah the Fed started their cash-for-trash program back when those banks failed to try and stem the tide (so might be “paper“ losses?). its amusing to remember back to when the 08 bailout apologists were talking about what a smart move it was because “the government made money” which was stupid on its face, and even more so to everyone who saw it for the punt that it was.
