You are right to be concerned about unqualified comments. The mere number of new users, all unaware of #Mastodon #netiquette, that is coming to the #Fediverse through #Threads constitutes a cultural shock. I call them, therefore, the #MetaHordes, likening them to the #Hun invasion of the 7th century.
