ADL really goes off the rails sometimes. (Ilhan Omar is my rep, so that example hits close to home!)</p><p>It's really worth looking at the actual study. As <a href="https://babka.social/@raf">@raf</a> said, they're clear about what they asked, and why. They're not quite asking the questions you posit. Our first set of hypotheses focuses on overt measures of antisemitism, in which respondents are asked three agree/ disagree questions about their views on Jewish people:1. Jews are more loyal to Israel than to America.2. It is appropriate for opponents of Israel’s policies and actions to boycott Jewish American owned businesses in their communities.3. Our last hypothesis relates to a second double-standard experiment. Respondents were divided into three conditions:[Jewish / Indian / Catholic] Americans should do more to make [Israel / India / the Vatican] a more responsible country in the world.[Jewish / Indian / Catholic] Americans should be held accountable for [Israel’s / India’s / the Vatican’s] actions.The order in which respondents saw the two questions was randomized. The first question’s wording suggests that U.S. subgroups should take actions regarding foreign sovereigns. The second question’s wording suggests that U.S. subgroups are culpable for the actions of foreign sovereigns.</a></label><br><a href="https://media.hachyderm.io/media_attachments/files/111/415/362/029/121/197/original/0f4331f0090a1779.png" rel="external">https://media.hachyderm.io/media_attachments/files/111/415/362/029/121/197/original/0f4331f0090a1779.png</a></li></ol></footer></blockquote>

It's really worth looking at the actual study. As @raf said, they're clear about what they asked, and why. They're not quite asking the questions you posit. And despite using ADL resources in formulating some of the questions they did ask, their methodology answers a whole lot of the concerns you & I share.
