In no small part because it’s a holistic endeavor, but I think we could be on the cusp of it, and the sky’s the limit once we get into that.
The point about homogenization is interesting, but I think it’s an inevitability on our current course in part due to globalization. On the other hand it could open up possibilities for diversity, but I think the real potential for a re-emergence of multiculturalism has to come from expansion. It’s entirely possible earth is too small, and it’s not like wooden ships were enough to constrain us from intercontinental expansion. Maybe the only way to enable diversity is expansion.
Here’s a question: Has the internet expanded diversity, or not?
