Yeah, as if the default stuff wasn't bad enough, distros tend to fuck with that stuff. Like Debuntu has an excessive amount of shit, it's as bad as what they do to bash but at least with bash, you can stop it loading the system defaults.

Because vim is the gtk of text editors: they took at thing that was inoffensive and often useful, and they just played Katamari with it.
