There's a number of problems with his liberation theology mindset, but that's distinct from his influence on the church doctrine. At the present rate the RCC has at least until the next pope for any sort of gay boi endorsement, at most pessimistic. Possibly will hold the line indefinitely. We'll likely see married priests before gay Catholic "marriage" will be Church approved.
