I quibble. Electric cars do not “do nothing.”

Electric cars are wholly insufficient as a primary climate solution. Transportation and urban layout need •radical• restructuring, and fast.

Electric cars •are• a useful, and almost certainly necessary, part of that restructuring.

Mistaking “necessary but not sufficient” for “useless” is a form of defeatism, too. Don’t do that.
