Yeah I think "equitable grading" for English class would look like
- Still have essays / reports / writing projects but be more flexible with the due date and allow multiple attempts. (Some teachers basically already do this by allowing multiple "revisions" and only taking the final one as the official grade.)
- Get rid of quizzes that are like "read chapter 17 by this friday and get asked what was the color of the window curtains because we want to make sure you read it."
- Have more time for the projects in class (like Kitler said), so that students who can't do it at home (for whatever reason) aren't penalized for that.
Sounds like decent ideas to me. Maybe I'm projecting onto it what I want to see, idk.
