- Embed this noticeI wouldn't recommend really anyone do squats and deadlifts. If you don't know proper form, don't have lifting experience, ect you are apt to hurt yourself and fuck up your back.
That being said, I do squats a few months a year because it is a good exercise, but I've had a few trainers/fitness competition people spot me and teach me how to do it without hurting myself.
I've messed up my back multiple times when I was younger from lifting too heavy on squats.
It's not that they are bad lifts in and of themselves, it's that most people don't have proper form or go way too heavy.
