If you are looking to lose weight, adding some walking/jogging to your day is the easiest way. I have an Apple Watch (most phones have an effective step counter as long as you keep it in your pocket) and I track my daily steps.
I've found about 2000 steps = 1 mile and 1 mile of walking burns about 125 calories. So if you want to lose 10 pounds in a month, that's roughly 35,000 calories to burn. The math comes out to about 5 miles per day for a month.
It sounds like a lot and it is...but getting out and walking/jogging is easier on joints, it's trackable and if you are consistent it works over time.
