Alex Gleason@realcaseyrollins @curtis @pixel @chjara Pleroma is significantly less resource intensive up to like 20,000 users. That makes it cheaper and faster for that use case. However when you have millions of users there is no simple way to scale it, not even by throwing money at the problem. Mastodon at least can be scaled by adding more Redis servers and web servers.
