@book @graf @Fever @sim your server has no right to compel my server to process a single byte of information. fediverse servers are remarkably permissive as-is but there are limits. for example SPC recently had to disable processing remote delete requests, solely for the pragmatic reason that remote account deletion floods servers with enough delete requests that it can disable the entire site. poa.st and a number of other servers have done this as well because the software literally just can't handle it. :shrug_kon: this is on one end of the extreme of why we need to be able to limit what we comply with.
