@book @graf @Fever @sim software protocols are constraints and agreement, nothing would work without constraints and agreement. at a higher level on the stack we're saying interact with our server in this way only or we'll just drop your actions because we're not obligated to return any data to you just because you ask for it. and our request is in fact very reasonable because we are not even saying we refuse to talk to you, we are saying there should be a 1:1 connection between human follow action and software follow action and not third-party server admin requesting thousands of follows for maybe other people or maybe nobody.
