I can get on-board with "Let's stop fucking with the Middle East" but given that we are, some types of fucking make sense and some do not.

Oil's gotta come from somewhere until we step up nuclear or start pushing fusion; reactor in the EU just got its first energy-positive run, that was cool. But anyway, we will still need oil to keep from setting *everything* on fire in the interim.

You know, you build a Jenga tower and then you put all of your society on top of it and you can't just yank pieces at the bottom and say "tough shit". I hate the horrific shit the post-Bernays world does but you can't just turn it off overnight and even if you could, we're all gonna die very soon after that occurs.
