culturally conservative leaning social democratic parties are not even that uncommon, you have a lot of them in eastern europe like Smer in Slovakia.
Only in germany a new party entering politics results in such suspicion and resistance, the current chancellor even smeared them as "simultaniously left & right wing extremists".

It's like the established parties want to keep power at all costs, right wing parties want to protect their exclusive and corrupt nepotism with industries & billionaires while left wing parties want to protect their nepotism with "N"GOs and "civil" "society".
